Snower the reindeer

In Writing we had to create a reindeer and then convince Santa to let her in the team. This is my story.

My reindeer

I am Snower the reindeer. I can fly in blizzards faster than any reindeer has done before. I am snowy white, rare in reindeer, with a black patch over my eye. I am Prancer, Dancer and Dashers sister and Speedy's cousin.  I was not allowed in the Santa's reindeer because I was to young ( But Rudolph was younger and he was in it)  

But now Blixten and Dasher have retired so now there are two spaces available!!  

I can fly in blizzards , clear snow and leap higher than the Burj Khalifa.  I am writing this to convince Santa to let me in the team.  

1: I can fly faster than the other reindeer especially in blizzards.

2: I clear snow so the reindeer can launch more quickly. 

3: I can leap higher than the Burj Khalifa.

4: I make great cookies and hot chocolate. 

I hope that I will be in the team with my cousin Speedy.

STEM

WALT: problem solve as a team.
In STEM we had to make a chair out of paper and tape. It had to be 10 centimetres tall and it had to hold a soft toy. Our team was Aimee , Fox, Linkon and I ( Lily-Rose). The plan was crazy because Aimee and I had the same idea.  We made a good structure and we all had something to do. Our next step is to make it stronger.

The 10 commandments

WALT: to know and understand the ten commandments. In RE we were learning about the 10 commandments.  But instead of telling you them I am going to show you my google drawing that I made. I need to work on maybe make my background so that you can see the words . What went well was that I think it looks pretty good.

Treaty of Waitangi

We were learning about the Treaty of waitangi.  I did a google drawing. What do you know about the treaty of Waitangi?

Stem.

Walt : To problem solve as a team.
Today in Stem we had to make a bridge out of big and small Popsicle sticks and 10 rubber bands. My group is made up of Fox, Aimee,Linkon and I.
It had to be 20 centimetres long and not straight.   We made many designs but they failed.

What went well was that it was fun making it.  In the end we failed.  I brought them home to make other things.

Our next step is to work together a teeny bit more.

STEM

Walt:  work together to problem solve. 
 In stem we had to make a slide or something to try and get a marble to the bottom.  My group was made out of Fox, Aimee and Linkon.  We only had 20 minutes to make it and with only 6 toilet rolls , some tape and scissors.  I was the taper, Fox was the holder, Aimee was the builder and Linkon was the builder.  Our slide broke at the last second but luckily Aimee built another  design in seconds. Our made it ( YES!!)  but some groups didn't.
The building was challenging because one wrong move and it will break.  Our next is that everybody works together.

Caritas

Caritas is an organisation that helps people all over the world. 

The way they carry out Gods is that they help people in need all over the world.   How do you carry out Gods mission ?

Flipping your lid

Flipping your lid is easy to do, even though you don't want to do it.  Your brain is split into two operations. The reptile brain and the upstairs part. when you get angry try to notice the signs that you are about to flip your lid. You start to breathe heavily and your hands and teeth are clenched. Try and do something you like to  calm down. Do a super hero pose, it calms you down!  Someways to calm down is... Deep breathes, smiling, dancing, they are all ways to calm down! How do you calm down?

WALT: To use pixel art.
Today we learnt who to do pixel art.  We copied a picture and numbered the perimeter.

Church and Penance

WALT: Know about God and Penance.   We worship  God in church.  Church is not the building that makes it church it is the people that makes it church.   Church is where you pray and worship God.      Next is the symbol of Penance.  The symbol of Penance is where you go to the priest to get forgiven.  You go to the priest and say sorry and then he go's to the room were Gods presence is and your forgiven.                                                   
                                           

Sacred Tapu

In RE we learnt about  what sacred means and what is sacred.  Sacred means holy. If something is sacred then it is holy. If something is holy it also has tapu.       What do you know that is sacred?

Internet safety with Interland

WALT: To understand Internet safety.

Today for Cybersmart we were showed how to do Interland.  How to  play Interland is that there are four land and you are an Internaut. The games are called Kind Kingdom, Tower Treasure, Mindful Mountain and a river one that I forgot the name. My favourite ones are Kind Kingdom and Tower Treasure.  The purpose of King Kingdom is to give positive comments and to report the bullies.  The purpose of Tower Treasure to guard your information.  The purpose of Mindful Mountain is to be careful with what you share to what people. And the purpose of the river one is to be careful with what you do online.

The Great Escape

WALT to handle our emotions.
  The great race was one of the STEM activity's that Room 4 does with Room 2.   The STEM challenges are when we do challenges to work as a team.  The challenge was to find clues to get out of the room.   My team was  Kate W, Anya, Sophie and I, we came third.  What worked well was that we worked well together and some of the questions were easy.  Most of them were hard though.  Our goal is to do less talking more working out!!!

Baptism

This blog post is about Baptism.  Baptism is one  of  the third sacrament of Initiation.  The words that the priest says when he baptises is "I baptise you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Any one can be baptised at any age.  Infants have been baptised since long ago.   Have you been baptised?  Made by Lily-Rose and Scarlett.

Church information

Kia Ora everyone!  This is my google drawing about Church stuff.  Do you know about worshipping God? Because I do!!!  It's okay if you don't know because going to show you how!  It's pretty easy to do.  You can either sing songs about him or you can pray.  It's okay if your not Christian.  How you pray is you say Dear God/Jesus, then you say what you need help with then say Amen. Then you are  done!  My google drawing is about: Who you can pray with,were you can pray and a verse from the bible.   The verse is "For where two or three gather in my name,there I am with them"  Matthew 18:20.  It means it doesn't matter how many come to worship him he will still be there.

Magical Museum

On Monday we went to the Museum with Room 1.  We went on a double decker  bus.  When  we got to the Museum we went through Safety.  Then our leader Anthony said that polar bears have black skin and clear fur.  They also have hollow fur that acts like a duvet.  Then we went in the Arctic voice exhibition.  I was in knowlege heaven! I researched about the Snowy Owl.The Snowy Owl have feathers on it's toes.  It also camoflages. We did a scavenger hunt but my group was really disruptive. My favourite part was the Arctic Voice exhibition because I learned a lot.  Whats your favourite part of the Museum?

                                                           What statistics is.
Statistics is showing your information in bar graphs, pictogram's and tally charts.  My favourite is the bar graphs because you get to rule the lines and colour the graphs in.  To make a bar graphs and/or pictogram's you need to gather information .  To gather information you have to make a tally chart go around the classroom or neighbourhood. One tally mark= 1 vote.  You try to do either the whole class/ neighbourhood or do what you can then add up the votes in the different sections and see which one won!  You share the imformation with who ever you interveiwed and your done!

The Funny Face Girl Stop Motion

Today in Room 2 we did Stop Motion and We Video. I did a Stop Motion about The Funny Face Girl.  Dun Dun Daaaaaa!  It was about a girl who kept on pulling funny faces.  I took photos of myself pulling funny faces  and then on We Video I put some music  and added some back grounds.  First it started off with rock music and a Rainbow glow then me pulling faces and nice music then red curtains and relaxing music.

Reading

This term in Room 2 we have been learning to write a story using Story Cubes.  I wrote on about a turtle who is sick of swimming around the boring pond everyday of his life.  Then he gets a chance because an other pond is in trouble and nobody wants to go , so he ventures out and runs into trouble straight away.I love writing because it is fun to let your imaginaion.

Te Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit)

This term in RE we have been learning about the Holy Spirit and all the miracles it preforms. Did you know that the Holy Spirit healed a lame man who could not walk.It also came apon the disciples at penetecost.  It came down on the disciples like touges of fire.  It also gave the disciples the power to speak different langages .  Some people thought that they were drunk.  With the power of the disciples told the world about the power of God.
