Form Responses

 WALT: To analyse results.

For Distance Learning we have been making forms and sending them to each other.  My form was What is your favourite type of movie?  24 people responded.  It was a fun task to do and I liked seeing the results.  I did it on Google Forms.  These are the results.

What would you choose?  Let me know in the form!

New Zealand Money.

WALT: Research the history of New Zealand Money.

Today in maths we had to research the history of New Zealand money.  It was challenging at times but fun to research the history.  I liked doing it because I learnt a lot about money and the people that are on the notes.  I researched on google and this site.  It took me a while to do but I enjoyed it.   I did it on a google drawing.  Here it is.

What do you know about our currency?

In Maths we had to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about how to work out 7 x 7000.  I did it on google drawings.  It was really fun to do because I already knew the answer for the question. Here is the google drawing.  Please comment on this post (nice comments please) and look for more.

What are some ways to work out 7 x 7000 that you know?

Mystical Maths

WALT: To answer questions using a spaced out strategy.
This week for maths we had to answer questions using a spaced out strategy.   It was quite easy to do because the questions were easy.  I answered the questions on google drawings and took a screenshot of it.
Can you tell me other strategy's?

734-416

700+30+4  minus

400+10+6

= 3     2    2

734-416= 322

Old school method for maths

WALT:  To answer questions using a old school method.
Today in maths we had to answer questions using a strategy that carries the one.    It was hard because the questions were long.  I did it on google drawings and I took a screenshot of it.   This is how you do the strategy . So you put the highest number at the top ( in this case 5383) and the low number at the bottom. Then you add. 3+8=11. That is bigger than 10 so you need to put the 1 underneath the 3 and the 8 and put the 1 above. Then add the next numbers and plus 1. Then add the next 1, carry the 1 and keep doing it. Then you have the answer!
Do you know other strategy's?

Maths

WALT: To work out a question using a different strategy.  [Other than using number lines]
Today in maths we had to work out a question without using a number line.  Instead we used a different strategy.  It was hard because I was actually was doing a different strategy for the first three questions.   I did another question in the right strategy and I took a photo of it.  I inserted the photo in here.   Do you have a strategy you like using to help you?  If you do what is it?

WALT: To add numbers without a number line.

Yesterday in Maths we had to work out questions using a special strategy.  I did it in my maths book.  It was quite easy to do, but the hardest part was adding the numbers together.   I took a picture of my working out in my book.   Do you have a strategy that you like to use?
