WALT: To make your own optical illusion.
Kia Ora! This is my first Summer Learning Journey Blog post. I know that it is the weekend but I have been busy this week, so I am working now!
I made my illusion on Chrome Canvas. I slightly copied it from a illusion that you would probably know already. It was fun and easy to do and I enjoyed making it. Here is the image of the illusion. I call it the Upside Down Cricket Wicket. (I don't know the actual name.)

In February I was 14 words per minute. Now I am 30 words per minute. I have improved soooo much.

WALT: To make a Jesse tree and make ornaments to go onto it.
I made a Jesse tree on a Google Jamboard. I worked with my friends. It was fun to do because I liked making the ornaments. Here is the screenshot.
What is a Jesse tree? P.S I already know what it is I am asking you.

Today in the schools final assembly we got our last duffy books for the year. My book that I got was Dawn and the impossible three, based on the novel by Ann Martin. It was is a comic that was created by Gale Galligan. It is a really good book so I can't wait to read it.

Walt: To have a picture of your dream destination and insert your face into it.
For our Hotspot we had to insert our face onto a photo of our dream destination. I choose Peru. It was fun and easy to do and I really enjoyed doing it. I edited it on Pixler-E. Here is the image.

WALT: To write a Haiku about Big Chungus
We learnt how to do Haikus in Reading today. We had to write one about Big Chungus.
It was fun and easy to do.

In RE we had to make a DLO about an advent wreath and answer the questions about it that our teacher set. I worked together with my friend on a Google Jamboard. I took a screenshot of it. It was fun and easy to do. Here is the screenshots. What do you know about Advent?
WALT: Write a story from another perspective.
Today Mr Gray brought his lambs into school. They are sooo cute. There is one girl and one boy. Their names are Tilly and Timmy. Tilly is the oldest. We had to pretend we were one of the lambs and write a diary entry about coming to school today. Here it is with some photos. Do you like the lambs?
It started off as a normal day.
I was waiting for my owner to come and feed me, like he does every day.
Suddenly big hands grabbed me and put me into a truck.
The drive was probably a few minutes but it felt like forever.
Then I was put in a place with new smells and what felt
like millions of smiling faces staring down at me.
It was embarrassing because I was wearing a nappy!
A nappy That I haven't had to wear in ages!
They think I smell bad but man, it ponged in there.
It was a mixture of stinky feet, farts and smelly shoes!
I almost passed out just trying to breathe!
Finally I was allowed outside!
But even outside smells weird!
It smelled like petrol and coffee and other weird stuff.
Then two girls came and picked me and my friend up
and put us in a sleep area so we could sleep.
I Hope that today turns out good, because it started bad!

WALT: To chose a saint and fill in a google document about them.
Today was All Saints Day, when we celebrate the saints of the world. We come to school dressed as our favourite saint or just in our school uniform. I came dressed as Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
It is sooo fun to do. We had to fill in a document about a saint. Here is my one.

WALT: To use texture in painting.
In Art we painted simple landscapes. Then we made our own totem pole and stuck it in the middle of the painting. We are going to use it for calendar art. It was soooo fun to do. I loved drawing the totem pole because it was fun to decide which animals to put on it. I took a photo of it and made a google drawing advertising it. Here is the google drawing. Do you know what a totem pole is?
WALT: Care for our environment.
Today we the Years 5's and 6's worked our ways to Thompson Park picking up rubbish along the way. The Year 6's of Room 3 and 2 went a different route while the year 5's went another way. We filled up so many bags of rubbish, filled with beer bottles, cigarettes and the random wallet.
It made me sad to see all that rubbish everywhere. So many people have thrown beer bottles and all sorts of things in the bushes where no one would look. Luckily we were there to clean it up.

In RE we got to go around the school and take a photo of the contents in a rubbish bin and a recycling bin.

WALT: To write a recount about a event that happened in the holidays.
In Writing we had to write a recount about something that happened in the holidays. It was a really fun activity because we got to write about whatever we want that happened in the holidays. I wrote about when I had a sleepover with Kate. It was easy to do because it was only a few days ago. Here is my writing.

SLEEPOVER WITH KATE!
Have you ever had a sleepover before? I have! My Friend Kate and I had a sleepover at my house during the holidays. It started early and ended late.
When Kate got to my house we went for a walk up the hill with my mum and my little brother. We got to the top and my mum took a photo of the view while Kate and I did the best part of going up the hill . . . running down! We ran down screaming at the top of our lungs and we dodged the sheep poo that was everywhere. We were exhausted when we got to the bottom.
When we got home Kate and I played a made up game called Endangered Species Vets. We would get my soft toys and we would pretend that they were seriously injured. They would stay with us until they were better. Our ‘house’ was a weather beaten hut that my dad made for me and my brother. My favourite patient was when Percy the owl was traumatised from falling out of a tree.
Kate had to leave at 2.30 to go to ballet exams and when she got back my dad took us to the movies to see The War With Grandpa. {GREAT MOVIE]. We got KFC on the way home, it was Kate’s first time having it. We had a shower and talked in bed when we got home. In the morning we had pancakes for breakfast, and we watched Enola Holmes on Netflix. When Kate's Mum picked her up we wrestled on the trampoline and Kate’s jeans split. It was SOOOOOOOOO fun.
It was the best sleepover that I have ever had at my house!! I hope that she can come again.
WALT: To play cricket at PE and have fun!!
In PE today we got to play cricket! We played snowball tag to warm up with. Then we split up into two groups, the year 6's and the year 5's. The year 6's played cricket first while us year 5's tried the dive mat. We would run up a ramp, then as soon as we stepped onto the mat someone would throw a cricket ball at us.
We took turns to dive and catch the ball. We got about three turns each, while Mr Gray would take photos. Then we played cricket while the year 6's did the dive mat. Here is a photo of me. Do you like cricket? Why?

In RE we had to make a DLO about the three sacraments of Initiation. I did it on google drawings. We had to explain what the three sacraments are. The three sacraments are Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Here is my google drawing. Have you been baptised?

Today in Reading the Rowlings (which is my reading group) had to answer these questions about Anne Frank. We read a article about her and then we answered the questions. Once we had answered the questions we had to make a screencastify explaining our answers. I did my work on google drawings. It was fun to do because I learned a lot about Anne Frank. In RE we had to make a google drawing about sacred tapu. We had to insert a photo of our self and put five ways how to look after our self. If was fun and easy to do. Here is the google drawing!

WALT: To paint a picture with our writing.
In Writing we had to write a piece of writing about a picture that was on the board. The picture was of a staircase to Heaven. I wrote my piece of writing in my book, then I copied it onto google docs. It was really fun to do the writing because I had a lot of ideas! I took a photo of my writing on google docs. Here it is!
