Personification

WALT: Make a DLO about personification.

I made a Biteable on personification.  It was really fun to do and I really enjoyed making it.  I made it by myself and everything in it, the images and music were made on Biteable.  I did it for Writing.  Please tell me what you think about it in the comments.  Here it is.

Refugee camp

WALT: To experience the life of a refugee.

On Monday the Senior Syndicate walked to the Red Zone and pretended to be refugees.  One the way to the our spot, Mr Gray would blow his whistle and we would have to run for cover, pretending that guards were after us.  Once we got to the spot, we spilt into our house groups.  My house, (Euphrasie or Blue) were making shelters with only three tarps and some twine.  Then we moved on to getting blindfolded and getting guided by a partner through a mine field of "bombs" (cones).  Then we had to answer questions that were in Mandarin to cross the "border".  Finally we got to get a spoonful of rice into our hands and had to eat it straight from our hands.  Then we walked back to school.

It was a fun experience, and it reminded me how some people live.

What do you know about refugees?

Metaphors

WALT: Explain what a metaphor is and say the purpose of a metaphor.

I made a slideshow with my friend about metaphors.  It was pretty easy to do.  We got the metaphors on this site.  It was sort of fun.  Here is the slideshow.

What do you know about metaphors?

Attributes that you use in a poem

 WALT: Decode meaning from poetry

For Reading today the Red group (That's my reading group) had to do the activity that is on slide 6. We had to watch a video about what makes a poem a poem, then we had to write down six things that make a poem a poem. It was easy to do although the person narrating the video was mumbling, so it was hard to understand him. I wrote that the attributes in a poem are rhythm, rhyme, metre, condensed words, intense feelings and breaks in the writing to make it easier to read. I did this in google slides.

Do you have any more attributes that you can use in a poem?

Smart Footprint

WALT:  Inside the footprint write how you stay safe online.

For the Summer Learning Journey we had to make a copy of this footprint and write inside it how to stay safe online.  I did it on google drawings.   It was really fun and easy to do and it reminded me how to stay safe online.  If you comment on this post please use Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful.

Can you think of other ways to stay safe online?
